Veris Vista 2.0 employs a Fibonacci-sphere algorithm to calculate the mathematically optimal display face for each marble. The system samples 4 distinct angles, constructing a three-dimensional globe that users rotate freely while marking flaws with millimere precision.
Each flaw type—chip, flake, moon, pit, fracture, haze, scratch—carries algorithmically weighted severity based on size and face position. The 10-point scale adjusts in real-time as users place pins on the 3D rendering, showing exactly how each imperfection impacts the final score under Lenient, Standard, or Strict rule sets.
The app operates entirely offline, storing all marble records, photographs, and grade calculations locally on device. No account creation required. Optional sharing generates exportable grade tags with comprehensive flaw breakdowns, making documentation auction-house ready without cloud dependency.
Capture marbles from 4 designated faces (B, C, D, plus primary) using guided camera positioning. System builds complete 3D globe for accurate flaw placement across entire surface.
Mark imperfections directly on rotatable 3D rendering with adjustable ring gauge measuring down to tenths of millimeres. Seven distinct flaw types: chip, flake, moon, pit, fracture, haze, scratch.
Real-time 10-point scoring with Fibonacci-sphere weighting for optimal face determination. Switch between Lenient, Standard, and Strict modes for personal records or auction-house standards.
Guided questionnaire walks through clarity, core content, pattern, and metallic flecks to identify Lutz, Divided Core, Onionskin, Cat's Eye, and 10 other antique marble types with typical size suggestions.
Arrange collection in sizing board organized by diameter bands. Grades stored beneath each marble position for at-a-glance condition assessment across entire collection.
Analyze collection with median grade calculations, flaw heat maps showing common damage locations, size distribution charts, and type breakdowns for comprehensive inventory insight.
Veris Vista was engineered specifically for serious antique glass marble collectors who need professional-grade documentation without cloud services or subscription models. The offline architecture ensures permanent access to grading tools and collection records, while the Fibonacci-sphere mathematics provide accuracy matching auction-house appraisal standards. Version 2.0 refines the 3D rendering engine and expands the flaw measurement precision for collectors cataloging rare Lutz, Onionskin, and other hand-made varieties.
